ISLAMABAD / LAHORE: The PML-N has demanded that the judiciary take a suo motu notice on Daska’s by-elections for “violation of the Constitution” after a report by the Pakistan Election Commission determined that the elections did not take place. out in free form. and in a transparent way.
Addressing the media on Sunday, PML-N stalwart and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Article 240 of the Constitution says that all institutions must help Pakistan’s Election Commission to hold transparent elections. He said that the ECP report contains the names of all those involved in the “fraud” of the polls held on February 19, and that a meeting held in this regard was attended by “many members of the PTI.”
“The meeting decided how the election would be manipulated,” he alleged. Abbasi called for exemplary punishment for all “conspirators” and called the report a “test” for the higher judiciary.
Noting the content of the report, he said that a Sialkot official summoned all the presidents to Daska College and gave them instructions. “Presidents were ordered to continue voting slowly in the city of Daska,” Abbasi said, adding that “they were told not to interfere with whatever the police and administration do.”
“Polling stations were ordered to close at 4:30 pm and all of Form 45,” he said, in further reference to the report. Abbasi, citing the report, said that the Deputy Director of Education (Women) also invited the female presidents to her home and that Deputy Commissioner Daska and DSP Sambrial were also present at the DEO home.
“The female presidents were asked to help the government and not to interfere in the manipulation,” he said. The PML-N leader went on to say that 20 presidents were transferred in private vehicles under the “scheme” and were “held in two different police stations”, as well as in an unknown location.
Referring further to the report, he said that a female president was “mistreated.” “The report says that the RO did not leave his office,” Abbasi said, adding that the scrutineers “did not know the whereabouts of the missing presidents until seven hours later.”
Abbasi commented that the report claims that police officers, instead of fulfilling their duty to protect election personnel, found that they were “kidnapped”. “Only time will tell who was afraid and why,” the former prime minister said.He asked how the election benefited police officers and said the prime minister and prime minister “will have to answer those questions.” “This matter goes up to Prime Minister and Prime Minister Imran Khan,” alleged Abbasi.
He said this is just a “small example of an election” and hoped the ECP would make the report public. Meanwhile, in a statement, PMLN president and National Assembly opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif demanded that Imran Khan step down and face the law in light of Daska’s Election Investigation Report.
He stressed that immediate action must be taken on Daska’s Election Investigation Report. Shehbaz Sharif said that the PTI government was trying to steal not only public money from their pockets, but also their right to vote and elect their representatives.
Imran Niazi must resign as now the Election Commission report has proven to be manipulated by him. Imran Niazi boasts every day of making the powerful abide by the law, why is he now reluctant because it is he himself who has been caught red-handed? , Held.
He said it was not easy to volunteer for accountability and legal proceedings like Nawaz Sharif did. He further said that if Imran has any respect for the law, decency and political integrity, he must resign and face the law.
Shehbaz stated that Imran devised new manipulation techniques in the form of so-called Electoral Reforms after his election manipulation tactics failed at Daska. Shehbaz pledged to fight these reforms based on mal fide intent, EVM, online voting and the NAB Amendment Ordinance in all forums. He said that all the pro-public political parties had come together to thwart PTI’s plan to enslave the nation. He concluded that this sinister conspiracy would be buried along with the long list of dark deeds of this disastrous Imran government.
Shehbaz also lashed out at PTI’s acquisition of LNG at historically high rates and warned that it would add more fuel to the fire of inflation that is already burning the people of Pakistan. Shehbaz said the nation was already being crushed by PTI’s onslaught of corruption and incompetence. The Imran government had made sugar, flour, oil, gasoline and medicines unaffordable for poor Pakistanis, he added.
This acquisition of LNG for more than $ 30 mmbtu was another mega scandal that needed to be investigated. The people of Pakistan would pay for this disastrous deal by the tyrannical Imran government. This current regime was one disastrous fraud after another.
Shehbaz said that the PTI government, which was declared more corrupt by Transparency International, created the NAB Amendment Ordinance to hide its theft and corruption rather than to punish the corrupt. And even after doing all of this and issuing ordinances to protect corruption, Imran Khan said he couldn’t understand what was causing the inflation. Meanwhile, Punjab government sources said the provincial government would take action if ECP does the same.
